Posted by Crow on Jan 20, '09 1:39 AM for everyone Well, no need for any lengthy explanation for this one, folks. It's a thinly disguised autobiography by Will Eisner, depicting the early parts of his career (you will see a lot of his 'Eisner & Iger' years here), up to the point when he finally decided to take the opportunity to produce a comic book for a newspaper syndicate, and the result was one of his most famous creation: The Spirit.
Thinly disguised? Yes, thinly. The main character's name is Billy, a common nickname for William. The studio is called E & S, rather similar to E & I (Eisner & Iger). And if that doesn't convince you, try to read some biography on Eisner; you'll find so many parallels with this graphic novella.
Graphic novella? Not graphic novel? Well, yes, that's what the cover says. No need to explain the difference between novella and novel here, right? I presume most of you are already aware of it.
You can download it here the usual way, by right-clicking the image below and select 'save as'.
Enjoy! The Dreamer.pdf (16.2 MB) | wah...gak tahu nih, apakah aku sudah berhasil mengunduhnya apa belum ya,,, di warnet gak ada reader-nya |
| He-he-he, good luck then. I hope you'd be able to read it at home. Check the file you've downloaded. Is it about 16 MB? If it is, you have a pretty good chance that you've managed to download it.
No guarantee, though. Multiply is behaving strangely since the last couple of days. I found it difficult to upload pdf files in this section, unlike before. |
| 16,563KB..itu yang tertulis di data volume. hem...MP emang kadang menyebalkan mas, yah mau bilang apalagi...gratisan hahahaha |
| hehehehe.. tengkyuuu You're welcome, and good luck. |
| 16,563KB..itu yang tertulis di data volume. Mmmmm, the file's size is 16.959.761 B. At least that's what it says in the file properties. |

| If you want to be sure that the file is downloaded fully, I recommend using wget. There's even a Windows version for this application. You have to do it using command line, though. The command I usually use is wget -c url (you can get the url by right clicking the image and copy the link). This way you can even resume a broken download. |
| thx edwin... You're welcome, Boss. Been trying to post the other one, "Comics & Sequential Art", but for some unknown reasons I just couldn't upload it here. I think it's not a matter of size, as I was able to upload "Fagin The Jew" which is larger, and "Three Shadows" which is even much larger.
I'll try again later. |
 | thanks mate. all of sudden, will eisner become your main interest this week ? :-) |
 | komikus kita yg gaya gambarnya kaya eisner, ya dwi koen ya? |
| He-he-he, actually I only planned to upload "Fagin The Jew", simply because I think it's a very good story. Then Erwin asked me to upload some more, so I did. After this, who knows? I'd like to continue uploading the jpg files of Frank Miller's "Ronin" in my photo section. I don't really like that one, but I always try to finish what I've started. |
| Sort of. Especially when you see his Sawung Kampret series. There's another one, actually, and we know him pretty well. Not really similar, but there's some kissing-cousin resemblance. |
 | there is an official biography of will eisner, forget the title, I didn't feel like i want to buy it at that time.
i promise, during chinesse new year holiday, I will scan and upload "a contract with god".
as a suplement to what you have done this week .... :-) |
